Gift Card Enclosure

Hello, welcome to my blog.  My share today is a project I did for our team meeting.  I am show casing the product Gift Card Enclosures found on page 194 of the annual catalog.  If you are like me, you probably just looked right over these gems.  I got my inspiration from various pins on Pinterest.

This first project we actually did at Convention in July this year.  We stamped 3 note cards and made a matching box using the gift card enclosure.  For the box we scored 1/8" outside the existing score lines on 3 sides.  You then just fold your score lines and glue the bottom flap to the sides.  You will definitely want to use a belly band with this because there is a gap where the sides do not meet.  The belly band measures 2 1/2" X 10".  The cards and the belly band were decorated using the stamp set Amazing Birthday found on page 48 of the annual catalog.

My next project I decided to just stamp on the gift card enclosure.  I used white Stazon ink with the Endless Wishes stamp set.  I love the new Cherry Cobbler sheer linen ribbon found on page 7 of the Holiday Catalog so I cut a piece about 24" long and the wrapped it around my envelope and tied it in a bow.  So simple and looks beautiful.
Next up I just covered the enclosure with Trim the Tree dsp paper stack.  I cut strips that measure 2" X 4 1/2".  I used my snail and just covered the edges of the flap and then I laid the dsp on the glue and hand cut off the excess.  I covered the back with a square of Garden Green that measures 3 7/8" X 3 7/8".  My tag was stamped using the Merry Everything stamp set and then punched with the Note Tag Punch, both found on page 13 of the Holiday Catalog.
Next up is just using a belly band around the enclosure.  I used Under the Tree specialty dsp.  This paper is double sided but much thicker than regular dsp.  It is even a little thicker than our card stock.  My belly band measures 1 1/2" X 9" and I just used fast fuse to glue it together.  I did not score it, but rather just wrapped it around my enclosure pressing the folds by hand.  I used the Tree Punch to add a couple of trees, and a gold glimmer paper star for the front tree.
My last project is what I will be demonstrating at the meeting, and then those present will make one of their own.  This cute little box holds 4 gift tags.
Here are the tags outside the box

Here is what my box looked like before I glued it together.  I placed the existing score line at 3/4" (using the lines to the right of the scoring blade on the SU Trimmer) and then scored.  I did this on 3 sides. You have to cut away a little bit so that it will fold properly into a box.  Put the unscored tab to the top (in the picture, my top is on the right and the bottom is on the left) On the bottom and the sides you will be cutting away the little 1/4 circle parts making sure to leave the little tabs so that your box is more finished.  I forgot to take a picture of the score lines before I cut, but your finished shape should look just like the one above when you are done.  On the little tabs, I cut a little wedge off both sides to make it fold easier.  I used fast fuse to put my box together.  Put a little glue on the outside of the little tabs and then bring up to the sides making sure that you are square on the bottom.  Put adhesive on the inside of the sides, making sure not to go higher than the bottom flap.  I folded the bottom up into place and with the side on the table was able to use this as a guide.  Turn over and to the same on the other side. Your box is done and now you get to embellish.  I used Under the Tree specialty dsp for my belly band which measures 1 1/2" X 7 1/2".  I just folded it around my box to make the score lines.  I stamped the greeting with the Hello There hostess stamp set using versamark ink and embossed in Early Espresso.  I punched it with the 1 3/8" circle punch.  I mounted the greeting onto a 1 3/4" scallop circle and then added this to my belly band.  The tags measure 2 1/4" X 5".  My dsp pieces measure 2" X 4 3/4".  I punched the dsp using the Angled Tag Topper punch.  I then glued this piece to my base.  I hand cut the base matching the lines on the dsp.  I then used the 1/8" hand held punch to punch the hole in the base.  A couple of Christmas Trees and a to/from tag (Merry Everything stamp set) along with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding finish off my tags.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
